He knew that the world needs a prayer, that the world needs sacraments, that a modern man is further and further instead of being closer to God. He was doing everything to reduce this distance. That’s why he traveled so much, he baptized, gave the sacrament of confirmation, heard confessions. For that reason – with the help of Radio Vatican – he prayed the Rosary with millions of people.
– Was that for this reason he was giving the Rosary to the people of Rome?
– That was the preparation of the diocese to the Jubilee Year. Catechists received for the Holy Father a task: to visit families and distribute the Bible, and then the jubilee crosses. The Holy Father never stopped to be ceased to be a spiritual Shepherd. He knew that the Church must fight for faithful people. He was very active. From this activity and concerns for a man, the World Youth Days were created. At first in Rome and then worldwide.
