Today at 8:00 at the Basilica of St. Peter in the Polish Chapel at the solemn Mass polish people gathered to join the “Poland under the Cross” action in the Eternal City. Holy Mass was presided by Monsignor Sławomir Nasiorowski from the Secretariat of State in concelebration with Father Tomasz Pocałujko, sFather Bartłomiej, a missionary from Africa, and Father Krzysztof Wieliczko, administrator of the John Paul II Foundation. Father Wieliczko delivered a homily in which he quoted the words of John Paul II: “Beloved brothers and sisters, do not be ashamed of the Holy Cross. Try to take up the cross every day and respond to the love of Christ. Defend the cross, do not let God’s name be offended in your hearts, in family or social life. I hope that through God’s Providence Holy Cross returned to schools, public offices and hospitals. Let it stay there! Let it remind us of our Christian dignity and national identity, who we are and where we are going, and where are our roots. Let it remind us of God’s love for man.”
After Holy Mass the Chaplet of Divine Mercy was recited then Father Bartłomiej distributed small crosses to all faithful.
