On December 11, 2019, Fr. Krzysztof Wieliczko, together with Richard Krzyzanowski, traveled to Mexico to visit several of the projects that the Friends of Saint John Paul II Foundation Mexico Chapter have been supporting. In this article, I am going to talk about one of them that the Foundation has been supporting since 2002. The Foundation’s Chapter provides support to a Hospice known as “Voluntarias Vicentinas Albergue La Esperanza”. This hospice provides assistance to very poor sick individuals that come to Mexico City from different parts of Mexico to seek health services from public hospitals. They also need house and food, as well as spiritual and psychological assistance, and learning activities.
As an example, in 2004 the hospice inaugurated an opening of multipurpose rooms under the name “John Paul II”. During this visit, Fr. Krzysztof celebrated a holy Mass for the sick and their family members, giving also his blessing for their healing, as a gift of hope and faith renewal to their illness. It is not easy to express how emotional was this great celebration where tears and smiles among the present were very evident.
We are very grateful to Saint John Paul II, for being present through Fr. Krzysztof and Richard Krzyzanowski, in which the spiritual, as well as the economic support, helps this noble cause every day.
May God bless you,
Coco Del Rio
