Totus Tuus

Let your singing cross borders! You know that the word Angel means sent. You are sent in your special way to spread God’s joy and through your singing show that faith is stronger than doubt, hope is stronger than hopelessness, that love is stronger than death.” (John Paul II, Meeting with the International Federation of Pueri Cantores, Rome 1993)

“Totus Tuus” is the title of the jubilee concert on the 41st anniversary of the election of John Paul II to the Holy See. That event was important for the history of the Church, and at the same time – as history has shown – being an announcement of changes in the world. On October 16, 1978, cardinals gathered for the conclave chose the Polish Pope, from the capital of Cracow, cardinal Karol Wojtyła – John Paul II. The concert, whose message is contained in the papal teaching about the Fatherland and Mother, took place in the beautiful Santo Spirito church in Rome on October 26, 2019. The repertoire included songs dedicated to the Fatherland and the Mother, so dear to the heart of John Paul II. They were songs of both Polish and Italian classics, performed by artists of great Krakow scenes, Agnieszka Kuk soprano, Tomasz Kuk tenor, Michał Kutnik baritone, Leszek Mikos bass, Krystyna Kutnik organ and piano, and Gabriela and Piotr Kutnik – trumpets and singing. The concert met with great interest of both Polish and Italian audiences, who did not spare applause to the performers, especially the youngest Gabriela and Piotr Kutnik, who, despite their very young age, showed high talent. The concert was organized by the Museum Family Home of the Holy Father John Paul II in Wadowice in cooperation with the John Paul II Foundation in Rome.
