I remember the flight to Rio de Janeiro in October 1997. A few days earlier, the Pope participated in a Youth Meeting in Bologna, where Bob Dylan performed and he sang with him. Sitting on the plane now, he said:
– Today, I will be the one asking questions.
We looked at each other in surprise. Did he hold something against us? Did we last ask him something he didn’t like? But, he added:
– I also sang in Bologna.
– We’ve all heard – we confirmed. The Pope asked:
– Well, I would like to know how was it?
We burst out laughing, and my late friend and colleague Orazio Petrosillo said:
– We didn’t know until now that you knew pop hits.
