I know how much has been contributed to the work of promoting Christian culture. I am thinking here not only of the publishing houses that were created thanks to the Foundation’s expenditures, but above all of the great help that is provided to young people undertaking studies in various fields, in Poland and abroad. Especially today, when new opportunities have opened up for our brothers and sisters in neighboring countries and at the same time new challenges are facing us, this help is of great importance. It is the most precious deposit made for many years, which is constantly multiplied when, having completed their studies, the scholarship recipients put their skills in the service of others. No less valuable are the experiences of young representatives of the Polish diaspora, who come to Rome during the holidays to get to know the Christian roots of Poland and world culture. Similarly, thousands of pilgrims from Poland, from various European countries and from other continents find in the Polish Home not only shelter, but also spiritual care and help. Thanks to this ministry, they can more easily benefit from the fruits of the pilgrimage to the apostolic thresholds. There is another work worthy of mention today. Thanks to the Foundation, documentation of the current pontificate is kept. During these twenty years we have witnessed many events in the life of the Church and the world which, by the will of Divine Providence, shape our history and our daily life. It is good that the memory of these signs of God’s love can be preserved for future generations, so that they too can share in our thanksgiving for the graces that this time brings us.
