THE GIFT OF THE CENTURY OR FOR THE 100th ANNIVERSARY? – RETREATS FOR STIPEND RECIPIENTS

In less than three months we will be experiencing the 100th anniversary of the birth of St. John Paul II, founder of our Foundation.  In the context of this upcoming celebration, another group of stipend recipients participated in the second phase of the retreat, which took place at the Religious House of the Sacred Heart Priests in Pliszczyn from February 27 until March, 1, 2020. The spiritual retreat was led by Fr. Franciszek Wielgut, Sacred Heart Priest.

For the stipend recipients retreats are a special time that is providing a great opportunity to better know the Lord God, to deepen their faith, reflect on their lives, and make concrete resolutions for the future.

It was our great joy that we had the retreat in the early days of Lent.  This way we were able to gain new spiritual strength and with a pure heart prepare for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

During the retreat we attended the Holy Mass every day, participated in the adoration and other prayers.  We also had the opportunity to listen to various conferences, participate in discussions, and integration meetings.  Very emotional and deep were Stations of the Cross which took place on the path from the retreat house to the parish cemetery.  During the retreat, we were able to take advantage of the sacrament of penance and reconciliation.

We would like to express our gratitude to the entire community of the Sacred Heart Priests in Pliszczyn for their warm reception, and especially Fr. Franciszek for the Word of God, for his patience in answering our questions and for the time he spent with us.  Returning to our daily duties, we are filled with God’s power, love, and concrete resolutions for Lent.
