On November 22, the Catholic Church celebrates the liturgical memorial of St. Cecilia, virgin and martyr. She is the patron saint of choristers, luthiers, musicians, organists, and vocal and musical ensembles. In iconography, her attributes are: a zither, a harp, an organ, as well as a burning lamp, a sword or a wreath of white and red roses, denoting her innocence and martyrdom.
In the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin we have a lot of musically talented people who play the organ, violin, trumpet and sing in the Academic Choir of the Catholic University of Lublin. In their intention the Holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jan Strzałka, the director of the Home. There was also a joyful meeting in the hall, where our artists received commemorative gifts – playing angels!
To all those who have St. Cecilia as a patron, we wholeheartedly wish you the best, so that the beauty of the music and singing will bring you and us closer to God and give us a lot of joy and satisfaction every day!
