My name is Tetiana. I am from Ukraine and I am a fourth-year student of Polish philology at the Catholic University of Lublin. Currently, as part of the Erasmus program, I am staying in Ostrava, which is the third largest city in the Czech Republic. It is known as a leading scientific and industrial center.
I study at the University of Ostrava. My classes are related to both the culture of Poland and the cultures of other Slavic countries, such as Belarus, Croatia, or Slovakia. There are also a lot of classes related to general history. Classes teaching about the past history of Poland play an important role. In my field of study there are young people from almost all over the world study and a significant group is made of students from Polish families which are living in the Czech Republic.
The University of Ostrava is located near the Cathedral of the Divine Savior, where I attend Masses and other services. I also like to go to the church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In my free time, I walk a lot in nearby parks and explore the area. I am glad that I can participate in the student exchange program and gain new experiences outside Ukraine and Poland.
My cordial greetings from Ostrava!
