SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS FOR UKRAINE – PRAYER AND VOLUNTEERING

Another week of the war has passed.  The entire democratic world stands in solidarity with Ukraine.  They admire the heroic struggle of the Ukrainian people for their own freedom, but also for freedom of the endangered Europe.  The last few days have been very rich in various religious initiatives.  The consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on the Solemnity of the Annunciation was a historic event.  Such an Act also took place in the chapel of our Home.  We trust that the Queen of Peace will obtain from Her Son, Jesus Christ, the miracle of changing the hearts of the aggressors and stopping this cruel war, so that no one will have to die, suffer or leave their homeland because of it, going into an uncertain future.

In the Foundation Home in Lublin a prayer for peace is ongoing.  Every day we gather to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and in the evening for the Eucharist, after which we pray the Rosary.  In a special way, we pray for peace in Ukraine during Sunday Mass and the Bitter Sorrows sung after the Holy Mass in front of the Blessed Sacrament.  After the Eucharist, a meeting takes place in the hall with tea, cake or pizza.  This is a great opportunity to establish deeper relationships with each other, share anxieties and fears related to the ongoing war, and strengthen the hope for a better tomorrow.

Last Friday, March 25, the eighth edition of the Extreme Stations of the Cross (EDK) took place in the Diocese of Lublin.  This year, about 2.5 thousand people participated in it, among them scholarship recipients of the Foundation.  During the night participants of EDK walk for about 8 hours devoting themselves to prayer, individual reflections and struggles with their own weaknesses.

Our scholarship recipients are helping refugees from Ukraine by volunteering at Caritas points, KUL, and other social organizations.  For example, they are helping refugees arriving at the railway and bus stations in Lublin, children in educational centers, or they help reloading donated goods.

We would like to express our gratitude to IF Foundation, all the benefactors of the Foundation and our Home.  We ask for your prayers, especially for the families of our scholarship recipients from Ukraine.  Currently, we host a dozen or so people from Ukraine whom we try to surround with good care. We would like to ensure you about our prayerful remembrance, especially those who support us with their kindness.

God bless you!
