PRAYER FOR PEACE IN UKRAINE

Wednesday, January 26, 2022, was a day of prayer for peace in Ukraine.  It was requested by the Holy Father Francis in connection with the escalation of tension around this country and the threat of Russian aggression.  In the John Paul II Foundation Home, a Holy Mass was celebrated in this intention.  The holy Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jan Hano from Ukraine, a scholarship recipient and philosophy student at the Catholic University of Lublin.

This prayer continued on Friday, January 28, during the Eucharist, celebrated at 7 p.m., in the chapel of the Foundation Home.  The liturgical setting was prepared by the scholarship recipients of the fifth year.  After the Holy Mass, Eucharistic adoration took place, during which the Holy Rosary was prayed.  Individual parts of the Rosary were prayed in the native languages of the scholarship recipients from Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.  Through the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary, God’s protection over all people of Ukraine was implored.  May Our Lady of the Rosary take away the threat of war.

Mary, Queen of Peace – pray for us!
