“OTRZĘSINY” FOR SOPHOMORES’

On Saturday, November 20, 2021, at the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin, the annual traditional “otrzęsiny” took place.  This time the event related to the students attending the second year, because last year it was not possible to prepare it due to the pandemic.  At 6 p.m., a Holy Mass was celebrated in the intention of our sophomores.  The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Robert Ptak, who in his reflection on the Gospel drew attention to a very important element of Christian life, which is sharing one’s experience of faith with others.  The scholarship program and staying together in the Foundation Home fulfills this element.

After the Mass, in the auditorium, for our scholarship recipients and in particular for sophomores there was a humorous part of the evening – the game show “Mega Mózg” (“Mega Brain”) organized by juniors (students from the third year).  The questions of the game concerned various areas of general knowledge and details of living in the Foundation Home.  It is worth noting that juniors prepared this program wonderfully!  There were a lot of cool and real-life videos which depicted sophomores’ and employees of the Foundation Home.

At the end of the evening there was a “otrzęsiny banquet” for all those present that is… sandwiches, sweet olls, and soft drinks.  It was really great and cheerful, there was such a homely and pleasant atmosphere, so thanks to this evening sophomores have officially become a part and an important member of our large Foundation family.
