On Saturday, February 26, at the initiative of the John Paul II Foundation at the Polish House in Rome, also in many Chapters and Foundation Societies scattered around the world and in the JPII Foundation House in Lublin, Holy Masses were celebrated for peace in Ukraine and around the world. At the Polish House in Rome, at the end of the Holy Mass, the Jasna Góra’s Song was sung with a request to Our Lady, Queen of Peace, for peace, love between nations and the end of war in Ukraine. After the Holy Mass, during the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Suplikacje (special prayers) were sung and prayers were said with the litany to St. John Paul II. After adoration, numerous nuns and the faithful venerated the relic of St. John Paul II.
In the John Paul II House in Lublin, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for peace in Ukraine took place from 12.00 until late at night. The scholarship recipients, individually or in groups, were praying the Holy Rosary, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and were singing Eucharistic songs. At 8 p.m., Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jan Strzałka, who also delivered an occasional sermon.
Holy Masses and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for the intention of the end of war in Ukraine and for the gift of peace were also held in many Chapters and Societies of the John Paul II Foundation, including Sweden, France, Germany, Denmark, England, Indonesia, Canada, USA and Mexico.
Further prayers for peace and an end to the war in Ukraine and for peace all over the world will be continued in the following days. Especially in the House of John Paul II, with the participation of scholarship holders of the JPII Foundation, Holy Mass will be celebrated every day and after, the Suplikacje (special prayers) will be sung.
