God, Honor, Homeland

On Sunday, November 11, 2018, we were celebrating the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland. On this occasion, the Foundation’s scholarship recipients and guests of our House gathered at a Mass celebrated by Fr. Robert Ptak SCJ.

All participants of the ceremony thanked God for the great gift of freedom that the Polish Nation won after 123 years of non-existence on the map of Europe. In his homily, Fr. Robert mentioned the importance of faith and prayer, thanks to which generations of Polish women and Poles did not lose their identity. He spoke about the homeland and patriots, among whom Saint John Paul II, patron and founder of our Foundation, was one of the greatest.  In our prayers, we also remembered those who offered their lives for the freedom of Poland. At the end of the Eucharist, we all sang the hymn “God, Thou Hast Poland”
