FRESHMEN’S “OTRZĘSINY”

On Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the John Paul II Foundation House in Lublin, another important event took place this year namely “otrzęsiny” of freshmen, that is “student admission” of new scholarship holders to the foundation family.

At 6 p.m. the Holy Mass was celebrated by Director of the Home, Fr. Jan Strzałka.  On the occasion of the first Saturday of the month, in his homily he referred to the mystery of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, inviting everyone to practice the devotion of the first five Saturdays of consecutive months, which has its roots in the Fatima’s apparitions.

Then, in the hall, the artistic part of the evening took place.  The program was prepared by scholarship recipients of the second year in the convention of the Oscar film awards gala.  The main characters were, of course, scholarship recipients of the first year (freshmen), who were awarded prizes in various categories.  Each nominee was featured in a short film that showed some funny events from their lives at the Foundation Home. Oscar statuettes and a sweet gift were prepared as prizes.

After the gala, everyone was waiting, as always, for a tasty treat.  In the lobby at the auditorium, a zone has also been prepared for photojournalists and for interviews with the stars of the evening.  The atmosphere of this type of meetings, as always, is wonderful, because the time spent with God, in prayer and then jointly in events, is a unique experience.  We wish our youngest scholarship holders a lot of energy, joy, and God’s graces for every day spent in Lublin.
