In the Christian tradition, the last Thursday before Lent is called Fat Thursday. On this day, pączki (kind of donuts) or chrust (waffles) are eaten in some countries. This tradition is very firmly rooted in Poland. This year, the Fat Thursday was celebrated on February 20th. On that day, a Holy Mass was celebrated in the Foundation’s chapel by Fr. Robert Ptak. After the Eucharist, all participants were invited for a sweet treat, in which, of course, dominated pączki (donuts).
We had another reason for celebrations one of the scholarship recipients – Marianna was celebrating on that day her birthday.
