On Sunday, June 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., grantees and residents of the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin gathered in the chapel to celebrate the end of the academic year, bid farewell to graduates of the scholarship program and to celebrate the name day of the director, Jan Strzałka.
The Eucharist was celebrated by Fr. Jan Strzałka along with Fr. Robert Ptak and Fr. Nyaming from Indonesia. In a commemorative sermon, Fr. Robert, at first referring to the Gospel of the resurrection of Jair’s daughter, compared today’s meeting to a kind of “resurrection” of life on the Foundation. He also referred to the project “You are my hope”, which has been on social media since April 27, 2021. He emphasized that the Foundation’s fellows are the hope of St. John Paul II, but also the hope of the Church and of the world. Fr. Robert wanted to show graduates that even after the end of the scholarship program, they are part of the community and the “JP2 Generation”, which must bring true Christian values to the world. Referring to Fr. Director, he named him as a man with a great heart, who is the true father of our Home in Lublin.
At the end of the Mass, Fr. Director thanked everyone for their presence and prayers and invited us to the hall for refreshments. Here we expressed our wished for the name date and presented his favorite freesias. Then there was the “joyful and tearful” handing of memos to this year’s graduates on the occasion of their completion of the scholarship program.
To all we wish pleasant vacations and… see you in October!
