On Saturday, 8 December 2018, on the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, exactly on the hundredth anniversary of the founding of the Catholic University of Lublin, was honored the founder and the first rector of the Catholic University of Lublin, Rev. Idzi Radziszewski.
The ceremony was attended by the academic community, abp Stanisław Budzik, archbishop of Lublin, Przemysław Czarnek, province governor, Krzysztof Żuk, mayor of Lublin, and scholars from the John Paul II Foundation. The celebration began with the Holy Mass at the academic Church, presided by bp Witold Mroziewski, a graduate of the Catholic University of Lublin and auxiliary bishop of Brooklyn. Next, the solemn meeting of the Senate of the Catholic University of Lublin was held. The last point of the ceremony was the unveiling of the monument of Rev. Idzi Radziszewski, at the nearby abp. J. Życiński square.
