Bishop Gianrico Ruzz’s visit to the Polish Home

On Monday morning, October 25, 2021, Bishop Gianrico Ruzza, Titular Bishop of Civitavecchia-Tarquinia, visited the Polish Home.  The Bishop was greeted in the traditional way with Polish bread and salt by lay workers and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart and the brothers of the Heart of Jesus serving at the Polish Home.  After the welcome speech of the Director of the Polish Home Fr. Łukasz Kotarba, everyone went to the chapel of the Polish Home, where the Holy Mass was celebrated under the leadership of the Bishop.  The Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Łukasz Kotarba, Fr. Krzysztof Wieliczko Administrator of the John Paul II Foundation and Fr. Sebastian Śledziona from the Ordinariate Field of the Polish Army.

During the homily, the Bishop recalled his personal meeting with John Paul II when he was a young man, which greatly influenced his further life choices.  He emphasized the exceptional openness of the heart and mind of John Paul II, which in such a complementary way allowed him to carry out his ministry on the Chair of Peter, influencing not only the shape of the Universal Church, but also the fate of the world.

It was the first official visit of Bishop Gianrico Ruzz to the Polish Home at via Cassia 1200, but as the Bishop himself assured,” “certainly not the last.”
