On the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in the women dormitory at Poczekajka, an Akatyst was performed in honor of the Mother of God. At 9:30 p.m. in the chapel of the students’ house young people, Ursulines sisters, and guests gathered to honor Mary, Mother of the Redeemer. In front of the icon of the Mother of God, the choir under the direction of s. Joanna sang the hymn of gratitude to God for the mystery of the Redemption. The choir consisted mostly of women and one man – all of them are scholarship recipients of the John Paul II Foundation.
All attendees of this unique event were very impressed with the performance of Akatyst. The impression was more intense as the event took place for the first time at the chapel of the women dormitory.
