Advent’s anticipation

I am waiting for You, my Jesus baby,

My quiet pleadings I am sending to heaven.

The entire world is waiting for Your coming

With a warm heart, I am calling You.

On the first Sunday of Advent, we started the new liturgical year.  For Christians, Advent, it is a very rich in symbolism, a four-week period of preparation for Christmas as well as the increased anticipation for the final coming of Jesus Christ at the end of times.

“Roraty” – Advent’s very early morning Mass is one of the essential elements of spiritual preparation for the mystery of incarnation.  It is a votive holy Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and its name comes from the first words of the song “Rorate Coeli, de super”  (“O Heavens, drop down your dew from on high”)  A characteristic element of “Roraty” is the lighting of a candle, called a “Roratka”.

Also this year, the “Roraty” Mass is celebrated every day from Monday to Friday at 6:30 a.m. in the Foundation’s chapel.  We encourage scholarships recipients, residents and friends of the Foundation’s Home to participate in this early morning prayer of the Church.

Immediately after the Mass, all attendees of the “Roraty” are invited for breakfast.

We hope that participation in this unique Mass will help to deepen our faith and fulfilling in practice the commandment of love of God and our neighbor.
