2020 is the year of the Great Jubilee, of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Great Pope Saint John Paul II. Wishing to prepare spiritually for the celebration of this anniversary in the Chapters and Friends of the John Paul II Foundation, the triptych peregrination (with the icon of Our Lady of Częstochowa and images of St. John Paul II and St. Faustina) began in Europe. The first place of visit is the parish of St. Monica in Munich. This triptych was blessed by Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, Chairman of the Polish Episcopate at Jasna Góra, on August 26th in the Chapel of Our Lady of Czestochowa during the Feast of Our Blessed Mother and was given to Fr. Stanisław Pławecki, CSsR, Rector of the Polish Catholic Mission in Munich. On October 12th, peregrination of the Triptych began with the solemn Mass in the church of St. Monica in Munich. Monsignor Sławomir Nasiorowski from the Vatican celebrated the mass and delivered the homily. Before the holy Mass numerous participants of Polish families with children prayed Novenas to the Mother of God, to Saint John Paul II, and to Saint Faustina as well as the Rosary. Msgr. Sławomir Nasiorowski during the homily encouraged all those gathered to follow St. John Paul II in his total dedication to God and to Blessed Mother through the daily Totus Tuus. After the Mass, faithful prayed the chaplet of Divine Mercy and there was veneration of relics of St. John Paul II. On October 13th, during holy Masses in the church of St. Monika, Monsignor Nasiorowski spoke about the important role of St. John Paul II in the history of Poland and the world. On the evening of October 13th, the Triptych was moved to the Church of St. Joseph in Munich. After the peregrination in Munich, the Triptych will be transported to the Holy Spirit Church in the Polish Catholic Mission in Ingolstadt.
