In the United States, in Doylestown, a solemn coronation of the icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa took place on Sunday, August 25, 2019. The solemn celebration was led by Archbishop Charles Chaput, from Philadelphia.
The crowns were blessed by the Holy Father Francis, during the general audience at the St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican on June 12, 2019.
In the homily, Archbishop Thomas Wenski, from Miami, pointed out the importance of the icon of Our Lady of Czestochwa.
– Is it She, the Jasna Gora’s Queen of Poland, who forms the Polish nation for centuries and generations, both in homeland and abroad. It is Her image, of Our Lady of Czestochowa, Black Madonna, that is present in our homes, in our hearts. She makes us aware and constantly reminds us of who we are, from where is our nation – accented Archbishop of Miami.
The icon of Our Lady of Czestochwa in Doylestown is a copy of the image of Our Lady of Jasna Gora in Czestochwa. It was blessed by Pope John Paul II on August 2, 1980 in Castel Gandolfo.
Pauline Fathers in lower part of the Sanctuary in Doylestown built a chapel inspired by the chapel of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Jasna Gora.
