In the monastery of the Sacred Heart Priests in Pliszczyn on May 9-12, 2019 spring retreat for the John Paul II Foundation scholarship recipients took place. Fr. Adam Pastorczyk, a Sacred Heart priest from Kraków was the spiritual leader. The retreat was conducted under the theme “Forgotten roads.”
The retreat started on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. with a supper. Later on, we were participating in the Mass followed by an integration meeting. Each participant was sharing with others where she/he is coming from and what she/he is studying.
The retreat program included: prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours, Holy Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, conferences, and discussion meetings. Vey unique was the intercession prayer in our own intention. With a great attention, we watched the movie “Cheated.” Those willing could take advantage of the sacrament of penance and a personal conversation with Fr. Adam, who was available all the time.
During these four days, we were finding roads left in the past, such as: personal vocation, life signs and prayers. In all of this, we were supposed to remind ourselves that God always gives us some signs. We do not need to wait for the moment that He will come and show us our vacation, but we need to recall all these moments when we met God and see His signs for us. Very important should be our daily examination of conscience, which not only helps in our conversion, but also teaches us constantly to seek and find God in everything.
