John Paul II, in accordance with the acquired knowledge, undertook a decisive fight against cases of sexual abuse of children and minors by some clergy and introduced norms applicable throughout the Church for accounting for this type of crime – wrote the members of the Permanent Council of the Polish Episcopal Conference in the Position on the actions of John Paul II relating to crimes sexual relations towards minors.
