On Saturday, October 22, 2022, on the liturgical memorial of St. John Paul II, the management of the John Paul II Foundation Home organized a pilgrimage for the Foundation’s scholarship recipients to Krakow-Łagiewniki.
Early in the morning we set off from Lublin and at 10.00 we arrived at the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II. Upon arrival, we were shown around the Sanctuary. In the lower church, where the relics of St. John Paul II are located, we prayed together the Litany to our Patron. At noon the indulgence Mass began, during which we thanked God for the gift of life and holiness of John Paul II and for the gift of our Foundation.
Then we had a dinner in the St. Faustina home and at 3 p.m. we prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy in the chapel of the Sisters, in front of the miraculous image of Merciful Jesus and at the relics of St. Faustina. It was the last point of our pilgrimage.
We are grateful to Fr Jan and Fr Robert for organizing this pilgrimage. It reminded us of the wonderful legacy of St. John Paul II, the Pope who saw in young people the future of the world and the Church. As scholarship recipients of the Foundation, we draw on his teaching, growing in faith and deepening knowledge at the Catholic University of Lublin.
