On Sunday, October 2, 2022, scholarship recipients and guests of the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin celebrated the beginning of the academic year 2022/2023 and the name day of Fr. Robert Ptak, Deputy Director of the Home. We began the celebration with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Ptak.
During the Eucharist, the homily was delivered by the Director of the Home, Fr Jan Strzałka. His touching sermon once again made us aware of the need for prayer and closeness of God in our lives, especially due to the ongoing war in Ukraine and the difficult situation around the world. All the more reason to constantly ask God for peace, faith and conversion for men, because, as the Lord Jesus says in the Gospel: “If you had faith, like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry: ‘Break out with the root and go into the sea’, and it would obey you” (Lk 17:5). At the end of the sermon, Fr Jan made wishes to Fr Robert, thanked Him for His service in the Foundation’s Home. Expressed gratitude for his support and providing good care for the scholarship recipients and with an open heart contributing to the creation of a warm, family atmosphere in our Home.
After the Holy Mass, a meeting took place in the hall, during which the scholarship recipients expressed their wishes to Fr Robert, thanking him for his daily service at the Home and for the Foundation. After that part everyone was invited to enjoy tasty treats; a part which has already become a good tradition of the Home.
