THE THIRD DAY OF THE JOHN PAUL II FOUNDATION 40TH ANNIVERSARY

The day rich in events began with a symposium – The John Paul II Foundation in the face of new challenges, which took place at the Urbanianum Pontifical University.

The leitmotif was how to pass on the legacy of the John Paul II pontificate to the next generations.

The symposium was organized by the Center for Documentation and Research Center of the Pontificate of John Paul II. Fr. Andrzej Dobrzyński is the director of the Center.

Among numerous participants, the symposium was attended by Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Archbishop Józef Staniewski from Belarus, Monsignor Paweł Ptasznik – Chairman of the Administrative Council of the John Paul II Foundation, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Vatican – Adam Kwiatkowski, who read the occasional letter from the President of the Republic of Poland – Andrzej Duda. Also, present were Father Federico Lombardi – Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Vatican Foundation Joseph Ratzinger – Benedict XVI, Monsignor Stefan Wylężek – Rector of the Polish Catholic Mission in England and Wales, Monsignor Sławomir Oder – postulator in the beatification and canonization process of John Paul II.

Mrs. Anna Maria Anders, the daughter of General Anders and the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Italy and San Marino was also present.

In the afternoon we participated in the Holy Mass in the Basilica of St. John Lateran. The Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski along with Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz and Archbishop Józef Staniewski, as well as over thirty priests who came from different parts of the world to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Foundation. Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski delivered the homily during the Mass.
