“Hola!”- That means “hello” in Spanish. My name is Iryna. I come from Ukraine and study Spanish language at the second year (sophomore) of the Catholic University of Lublin. I am currently participating in the Erasmus student exchange program in Spain, at the Universidad de La Rioja. I live in the city of Logroño in the north part of Spain. This city has a very favorable location. It is located near Madrid and is an important point on the pilgrimage route to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, where, according to tradition, the body of St. James the Greater is located.
All classes are held stationary, but we are still obliged to cover our mouth and nose. It’s not always easy, but I really appreciate this time and this experience. The Spaniards are a very benevolent nation. Lecturers are always ready to help. I am very happy to have the opportunity to study here, meet new people, improve the language I am learning and get to know the culture of Spain. I am very grateful to the John Paul II Foundation that I have the opportunity to study at the Catholic University of Lublin and take advantage of the Erasmus program.
My cordially greet everyone!
