JASNA GÓRA APPEAL FOR UKRAINE

On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, scholarship recipients of the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin together with the Friends of the Catholic University of Lublin took part in a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Jasna Góra in Częstochowa.  Participating in prayer for peace in Ukraine and the entire world, they made imploring God through the intercession of the Black Madonna.

 

During the Jasna Góra Appeal at 9 p.m., Rev. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski, Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin led the meditations.  Praying together with scholarship recipients from Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as students and professors of the Catholic University of Lublin, he recalled the words of St. John Paul II: “No more war.  It is peace that must guide the destinies of nations and of all humanity.”
