“Aid to Ukraine” – The prayer community of John Paul ll

The prayer community of John Paul ll Foundation Chapter in Vienna at the Polish Catholic mission together with the Polish National Shrine on Kahlenberg in Austria has launched the “Aid to Ukraine” campaign.  As part of this action, material and financial assistance is organized for women and children who had to leave their homeland due to the ongoing war.  Currently, many of the refugees are in Poland.  The collection point of the gifts is located in the Emmaus House at the Polish Catholic Mission in Vienna.   The faithful of the Mission are very generous.  In a short time it was possible to collect many food products and first aid, e.g. powdered milk, canned food and diapers for children, hygiene and dressing products, medicines, blankets, bedding, sleeping bags and toys for children.  Private individuals and young people joined in the help.  In the morning hours on February 28, 2022, the first transport set off to the parish of St. John of Nepomuk in Susiec, near the border with Ukraine.

We would like to thank all donors from the bottom of our hearts on behalf of those in need!

On Sunday, February 27, 2022, a Mass was celebrated at the National Shrine in Kahlenberg asking God to end the war, to grant peace in Ukraine and around the world.  The Holy Mass was attended by the Prayer Community of St. John Paul ll Foundation in Vienna.
