Due to the growing threat of military aggression of Russian troops against Ukraine, Metropolitan of Lublin, Stanisław Budzik, responding to the encouragement of the Holy Father Francis and the appeal of the President of the Polish Episcopal Conference, Archbishop Stanisław Gądecki, sent a fervent request to all residents of the Archdiocese to pray for peace in Ukraine: “I encourage you to make the next week a special time of solidarity with our eastern neighbors. May local groups and communities take up prayer in the parishes. I also ask that the next week, at the end of each Mass, supplications be sung to remove the threat of war, which always brings death and destruction.”
Residents of the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin, responding to this appeal, gathered on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 11.00 a.m. for the Eucharist, to pray for peace in the world, especially in Ukraine, which is the homeland of many our scholarship recipients. This prayer will continue throughout this week.
