These Christmas trees shine for a reason

The former secretary says that Christmas trees came from Zakopane, from Krzeptówki. They came by bus. They were cut trees. Very beautiful, because the highlanders made sure that the Pope received the most beautiful trees that grew in our country. “What does a tree mean?” – John Paul II once asked. And, he explained: “I personally think that this tree is a symbol of the tree of life, the one mentioned in the Book of Genesis, and the one that together with Christ was planted anew in the soil of humanity.” As he said, once a man was cut off from this tree by sin. And, then Christ was born, and the tree again began to grow “in the soil of mankind’s life.” And, so he/she matures with Him, even to the cross. The Holy Father very often emphasized this connection of the Christmas tree with the cross of Good Friday – reminds the Archbishop. “In Christ there is this relationship,” he said. He pointed out that these Christmas trees also shin “In Christ there is this relationship” – he said. He pointed out that these Christmas trees also shine for a reason and not only to make it look nice. But, because they symbolize life and light. And, Christ is life and light.
