The time of preparation for Christmas, due to its unique atmosphere, is particularly important in shaping the attitudes of faith of young people. “Rorate caeli desuper” – these are the first words of a Latin song translated as “let the heaven drain the dew”. From those Latin words comes the name “Rorata”, that is, the votive Mass of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Advent. It is a special invitation to wait for the Lord’s coming with His Blessed Mother.
In the Foundation House in Lublin, this time began on November 29 this year. “Roraty” are held in our chapel from Monday to Friday at 6.30. The custom of lighting a special candle, called a “roratka” is related to them. It symbolizes Mary who, as the dawn, announces the coming of full light – Christ.
Students from different years of study have a designated day for liturgical duty and preparation of the auditorium. After the “Roraty”, an Advent breakfast awaits all participants, where you can always eat something good, spend time in the group of scholarship holders and start each new day with God. We wish all our scholarship holders all graces from God and the protection of the Virgin Mary and blessings to experience this holy time.
