It is important to re-read, get to know more deeply the figure and work of Karol Wojtyła, his teaching, the perspectives he outlined about the future of Catholicism. In this way, it will be possible to better understand the meaning and content of the two challenges he presented. First to believers: to discover the boldness of faith and to have the courage to live the faith in today’s society, without fear, without complexes. And then, a challenge for all people: to be able to recognize themselves and find themselves in God the Creator, to be able to look at history with the eyes of God Himself, with the eyes of peace, justice, solidarity, that is, universal fraternity. I believe that these two challenges are constantly recurring in the speeches of Pope Francis.
To sum up, it can be said that Karol Wojtyła interpreted, and he did this in a radical way, the deep meaning of the Beatitudes. Moreover, his life showed the ideal model of how to live the Beatitudes in the third millennium, regardless of the daily difficulties that every person has to face.
