On Saturday, October 16, 2021, on the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the election of Cardinal Karol Wojtyła as Pope, members and friends of the John Paul II Foundation Chapter in New Jersey gathered for a solemn Mass at the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Hewitt, NJ.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by the Pastor of the church, Fr Kamil Stachowiak.
During the homily, Fr Kamil Stachowiak quoted the words of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, who on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Paul II in a commemorative letter titled him with two qualities – holy and great, because these two words most summarize who he was.
He also recounted the testimonies of people who met him and often said that his holiness was manifested in the way he was and in the way he approached people, and that his ordinariness was holiness.
After the Holy Mass, there was blessing with the relics of St. John Paul II.
Despite the late hour, after the Mass almost all participants remained for coffee and cake prepared by our members, where we could all meet and talk.
