On Saturday, October 16, 2021, it was the 43rd anniversary of the election of Cardinal Karol Wojtyła as Pope. On this occasion, in the period of struggle with the pandemic, we celebrated “Papal Sunday” in the Hamburg Mission. Throughout Sunday the relic of St. John Paul II was on the. main altar. At the vestibule of our church, Sr. Małgorzata Depka distributed prayer books, films and various books dedicated to the Saint. Also, there were the rose rosary from the tomb of St. John Paul II and calendars with the Blessed Cardinal Wyszynski and St. John Paul II for 2022, published by the Polish Catholic Mission in Germany. It was also chance to make a voluntary donation to the John Paul II Foundation in Rome, which was established 40 years ago by St. John Paul II.
It was another “Papal Day” in the Hamburg Mission enriching us and allowing us to reflect on the heritage of St. John Paul II.
