The Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy in Kraków-Łagiewniki invites you to participat
in the pastoral initiative “Mercy as the hope for the world”. On August 17, 2002, during the consecration of the Basilica of the Divine Mercy St. John Paul II said: “Today, therefore,
in this Shrine, I wish solemnly to entrust the world to Divine Mercy. I do so with the burning desire that the message of God’s merciful love, proclaimed here through Saint Faustina, may be made known to all the peoples of the earth and fill their hearts with hope. May this message radiate from this place to our beloved homeland and throughout the world”. After saying these words, he made the Act of entrusting the world to God’s Mercy.
In 2022, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of this event. We want to prepare ourselves spiritually for this anniversary. Already today we invite you to a common prayer that will connect the whole world and help to discover the depth of the Act of entrusting the world to the Divine Mercy.
We will start our preparations on Sunday, August 22, 2021, during the 8th Pilgrimage of the Devotees of Divine Mercy to Łagiewniki. Today we cordially invite you to the Holy Mass at 15.20, which will be chaired by Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Metropolitan of Kraków. Then – for the next 11 months, from September to July, on the Sunday after the 17th day of the month – we propose prayers in sanctuaries and churches on all continents. The culmination will be the celebration of the 20th anniversary in August 2022 in Łagiewniki.
Every Sunday after the 17th day of the month a prayer at the Hour of Mercy and Holy Mass will be broadcast from the Basilica of the Divine Mercy, during which individual fragments of the Act of entrusting the world to the Divine Mercy will be contemplated. We encourage you to connect with us through TVMilosierdzie at www.milosierdzie.pl and our YouTube channel.
Materials for the Hour of Mercy and meditations of the Act of entrustment for each month, prepared by Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, the Metropolitan of Kraków, will be sent to those interested by the 15th day of the month and they can be used /as a whole or in fragments/ at a time that best suits local conditions /this may be the 3rd Friday of the month, 17th day of the month, Sunday after the 17th or another day/.
