FEAST OF OUR LADY OF CZĘSTOCHOWA

The main ceremonies in honor of Our Lady of Częstochowa were held with the participation of representatives of the Episcopate and the multitude of pilgrims who came to Jasna Góra . This year’s fair is part of the preparations for the beatification of Primate Wyszyński. The main sum was cleared at 11.00 . Prayers for the young people and their meeting with the Pope in Lisbon were also carried out at the signs of the World Youth Day.

During the Summa, the Jasna Góra Vows of the Nation, the author of which is Primate Wyszyński, were traditionally renewed. Today it is 65 years since they were deposited at Jasna Góra.

Weddingsis a prayer in the form of a vow by the Primate of the Millennium, Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński. It was established in the year of the 300th anniversary of the vows of King Jan Kazimierz in Lviv as a specific program for the renewal of the religious and moral life of the nation. They include, among others commitment to protect life, the indissolubility of marriage, strengthen the family, care for peace, justice, good neighborly and social coexistence, and fight against social vices: laziness, recklessness, waste, drunkenness and licentiousness.

The resumption of vows was preceded and ended by the sound of Jasna Góra fanfare.

Traditionally, during the Summa, the volunteers made promises of Spiritual Adoption of a Conceived Child, committing themselves to a 9-month prayer for a child conceived in a mother’s womb, whose life is at risk.
