As Pope, Karol Wojtyła appreciated the activities of various movements in the Church and led them to ecclesiastical maturity, gradually leading the way of evangelization.  He used to say that they were a great gift of the Holy Spirit.  He also explained that in the difficult period for the Catholic community after the end of the Second Vatican Council, the Holy Spirit bestowed on the Church movements that filled the spiritual void and the lack of missionary activity.
