The legacy of John Paul II – in the human, spiritual, pastoral dimension

It is true that today we are immersed in a culture in which we move very quickly from the highest fame to oblivion, to history.  But there is a legacy of John Paul II – in the human, spiritual, pastoral dimensions, similar to that of universal governments – that remains in the hearts of believers, as well as many who do not have a religious faith.  It remained in the life and mission of the Catholic Church, in relations with other religions, as well as in the history of mankind.

The point, however, is that now this great legacy should not only be simply guarded, preserved in a museum, but that we should undertake it, deepen it, develop it, and therefore “translate it”, I would say, internally assimilated into ecclesial communion, in evangelization.  In this way, it can be helpful for Pope Francis’ mission – in which I find more and more similarities to Karol Wojtyła – in directing the paths of Catholicism towards the future
