Christmas and New Year is a time of a wonderful atmosphere, warm family meetings, making wishes and giving gifts. At the same time, it is worth to remember that not everyone can fully experience such joy. Around us there are many people and families who cannot fully experience this festive time in a joyful atmosphere because they do not have the basic means to live.
According to the beautiful, long-standing tradition, during the annual Christmas wafer meeting at the John Paul II Foundation Home, scholarship recipients receive gifts/packages prepared by the Warsaw Chapter of the John Paul II Foundation, which is led by the President of the Chapter, Mrs. Ewa Bednarkiewicz. Each gift usually contains sweets, school supplies and children’s clothing and it is later on donated to children from poor families or sick or lonely people living in their hometowns. When we are passing on the gifts/packages, we more intensively realize the truth that: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ (Book of Acts 20, 35)
On behalf of the scholarship recipients who this year received the Christmas gifts/packages, we would like to wholeheartedly thank all donors for so great generosity and efforts of organizing this beautiful initiative. May Christ the Lord, the Newborn Savior, send His blessing and generously reward for all good deeds!
