“During His baptism in Jordan, Jesus not only speaks of redemptive suffering, but also receives a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit, which descends in the form of a dove, that is, as the Spirit of God’s reconciliation and kindness. This descent is an announcement of the gift of the Holy Spirit which Christians receive at baptism. In baptism of Christ, therefore, we find the source of baptism of Christians and his spiritual wealth.
