OTRZĘSINY OF FRESHMENS

On the eve day of Advent, on Saturday, November 30, 2019 in the John Paul II Foundation Home “otrzęsiny” took place.  “Otrzęsiny” is an inclusion of students from the first year (freshmen) into the student community that is funny and humorous.  This year’s “otrzęsiny” were held under the title:  “Who wants to become scholarship recipient?”

The event started at 6 p.m. with a holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Robert Ptak.  After the Eucharist, everyone gathered in the hall, where in a humorous way, the scholarship recipients from the second year – sophomores, presented a short film about each new student, while showing their acting and directorial talents.

All participants of the event were very happy, especially freshmen, who received symbolic gifts from their older colleagues.  Fr. Jan Strzałka ended the event with his speech in which he thanked sophomores for their effort to prepare this successful event and all for their presence.

At the end all participants could enjoy testy donuts (pączki) and yeast cakes.  Again, this way we all were able to experience the warm family atmosphere at the John Paul II Foundation Home in Lublin.
