Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

Today, on the last Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Jesus Christ the King of the Universe. Over the past twelve months, we have considered all the mysteries of his life, from birth to ascension, and among them the central place was occupied by the Passover of death and resurrection. Now, together with the apostle Paul, we confirm that God’s plan is to “unite all things in Christ again … what is in the heavens and what is on earth” (Eph 1:10).

Thanks to the contemplation of the One whom the Eastern liturgy calls the “Pantocrator”, we fully understand the mission of believers, called to participate in building His Kingdom.
In addition to Jesus, King of the Universe, we contemplate Mary, Mother of the King, whom we address as Queen of heaven and earth. May with her help our lives become a praise and fidelity to a holy and merciful God. ”
