100th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BIRTH OF KAROL WOJTYŁA

JOHN PAUL II FOR YEARS PRESENT AT THE POLISH COMMUNITY IN AULNAY SOUS BOIS, NEAR PARIS

On May 17, 2020, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Karol Wojtyła, on the initiative of Cosmopolite Village, the Polish Association, a group of parishioners from the Polish community in Aulnay sous Bois celebrated this beautiful jubilee by laying a bundle of flowers under a memorial plaque dedicated to John Paul II, on the square, which since 2014 bears the name: Parvis Jean-Paul II.  One of the participants read several passages selected from the Holy Father’s speeches, emphasizing efforts for unity, which is especially important in the Polish community.  The entire life of St. John Paul II has constantly encouraged us not to give up efforts to shape a human community that is rich in diversity, a community that builds a civilization of love, and living in sincere and open love for the world, of another person, and God.

Today, we give thanks to St. John Paul II that with his attitude throughout life he was showing God.  We remember with affection, but also with great gratitude his entire pontificate.  The memory of our great Compatriot manifests itself not only on the occasion of round anniversaries, which is also important, but also in the continuation of spiritual experiences.  In this spirit, every first Thursday of the month there is a prayer for priestly and religious vocations in our community along with the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the celebration of the relics of St. John Paul II.  Our parish received relics of St. John Paul II from Cardinal Dziwisz in 2015.   In our letter addressed to Cardinal Dziwisz with the request, our parish community expressed a desire to entrust ourselves to the care and advocacy of St. John Paul II – saint patron of families.
