They have a lot in common

He appeared as whom he was – Bishop of Rome, head of the Catholic Church.  Already at the beginning, he explained that he had come to speak of Christ.  Without any hiding, without catwalks.  Above all, he introduced himself as a believer in God to believers in God.  “I just want to bear witness to what I believe in.”

It was great when these young people applauded at the right moments.  After all, they did not know the text of the speech, they could not be prepared.  We have learned that they listened with care and interest to the words of the Holy Father: Christians and Muslims, as descendants of Abraham, profess the same God, the only God.  They have a lot in common, as believers and as people.  And, especially today, in an increasingly secular and atheistic world, Christians and Muslims must bear witness to their spiritual values together.

It was a truly unforgettable meeting.  Many Arab newspapers have spoken positively about him.

A year later, the Day of Prayer for Peace took place in Assisi, and several representatives of Islam, at least a more spiritual, moderate shard, arrived there.  This religion, with more than one billion followers, is characterized by a huge variety of positions and behaviors.
