The John Paul II Theater "Droga" from Poznan in Munich
On November 25-26, 2017 on the invitation of the John Paul II Foundation Chapter in Munich which is located at the Polish Catholic Mission Parish, the theater “Droga” (“Path”) presented few shows. The teaching of John Paul II is leading the artists who also choose him as their Patron. The artists performed at the John Paul II Polish Supplementary School. They presented “Parasole” (“Umbrellas”) based on the Bruno Ferrero story to two groups of children. The story is about the courage, hope, and joy in being with another person. On Sunday, November 26th after the main Mass in Polish, the theater presented “Dlaczego na świecie są pustynie i kamienie” (“Why in the world there are deserts and stones?”). This is also based on the Bruno Ferrero story.
This time the theme was encouraging us to learn more about ourselves, our weaknesses and the way to overcome them in order to leave in harmony with God and other people. After the show, the artists made some quiz and were providing prizes. Then, they also offered an artistic class. The show was directed to children, but also adults were impressed with deep context of the show which had lots of religious messages and interesting forms of expression: as dance, music and elements of pantomime. Members of the John Paul II Foundation Chapter took over the organization of the Family Meeting with the Theatre, they hosted the theatre, prepared and served hot meals, but most of took care of the nice atmosphere. The Theater enriched our parish community and provided an excellent opportunity to stop and ponder as to what is the meaning of life for all Christians.
